I have been looking for realistic the realistic samples of Koto Harp, there is RA but that is 1000 dollars(I just need the harp), then there is Ethno World 2 but that's the Zheng Chinese Harp.(might get this anywayz) I noticed that World Traveler Cd has a Koto Harp, is there any way I can hear it? How good is it, I am looking for total realistic Koto harp. If I could hear a sample of it it would be great!
Thanks

Hi Strangecat
I just got World Traveler. The Kotos in that set have a little bit of noise at the end of the samples. It sort of makes you want to run the samples through a noise reduction plug in.
Actually, I would suggest you try the 108 Koto from Omni Synth, which you can get for $.99 on the download page. Can't beat the price, and IMHO, the sample quality is better. There is also a nice one in Sonik Synth 2, 013 Japns Koto.

I used the OmniSynth koto extensively in the last song I wrote, and I think it's a great little sample.

Thanks for being Honest about the Koto on the World Traveler CD. I wasn't to impressed with OnmiSynth koto Sorry. I even have one that is a little better then that and it's still not as realistic as what i am looking for. Looking for a Koto harp with realism like Garritans harp or Xsamples Harp. *(amazing realistic Harps)
thanks

I like the one on Omni myself but it isn't very large. We have a more elaborate Koto and various zithers coming out soon though.

I have convinced someone to do the sampling of a real Koto Harp(will be a while though). I am interested in what ethnic instruments you bring to Ezounds for down load'able sounds.

Okay. We'll be releasing those soon. By the way, just for the record, we DID sample a REAL koto harp.StrangeCat wrote:I have convinced someone to do the sampling of a real Koto Harp(will be a while though). I am interested in what ethnic instruments you bring to Ezounds for down load'able sounds.

Crazy fake Koto Harps LOL
Depends on how it is sampled and how well you can hear the timbre of each plucked string.)real Koto Harp)
Do you mean off your World Travler CD?
Is there any way I can hear a sample of it?
If your going to be releasing stuff soon on Ezounds I can just wait^_* I am really interested in the Ethnic Sounds you guys will have up.

i have used the omnisynth koto sound extensively over the past few years(i believe it is similar to the sonic synth 1 koto if not the same).
i can understand if it's not detailed enough for some, but for me it always seemed to be perfect.
downloadable esoundz is the future that's all i have to say. i'm starting to remember how many times over the past few years people have posted on this forum asking for "that one" sound.

yea once ethnic instruments and rare instruments get on there for downloadable sound it will be insane. I already think it is great! no that koto is not good enough by far, Roland Expansion Board World has a better Koto but that isn't as realistic yet either^_* but like I said i have someone sampling a real Koto now it will take while though. Still I would like to hear the Koto Harp Squids is mentioning.
