hey stash98, do a search on PDC in the forum. There are heaps of posts on it. People continue to say that PDC works with racks, but this is only true in certain methods of working. Basically, PDC does not work if you loom plugs like SIR *within* a rack with the VSTi and other non PDC plugs (as per your post four up from here).

ok..thanks..will do..I know SIR will work, I just need to get it set up right. I had it as an insert on an acoustic guitar take I made and it sounds awesome.

but the jamstix controlled BFD VSTi is a different animal. I just want to control where my impulses are panned really.

Also, I read a lot of posts on why people don't need mixers on here. the main issue for me is not the visual, but really just the need for improving sends and busses. those are the most important things for me when i mix down. I like to bus in amples, or panned reverbs, or slapbacks, just things that can deepen a mix and make it really come to life. So that is why I think the sends need to be a bit more user friendly. tracktion is set up like mixer, just going the other way, and I get that. I just still struggle with things like SIR, and bussing in snare samples that add attack..things like that.

I understand what you are saying about mixers. I don't feel I need one anymore, although when I first started using tracktion 1 1/2 years ago or whatever, I thought it was a lack.

I don't agree that the current implementations of sends is not user friendly generally- just where PDC plugs are involved it becomes a hassle for me.

You put a seperate SIR on each drum track?

or do I misunderstand..?

SIR should be in a rack, with 'send' filters on every track that outputs from the drum rack:

yep. thats how I had it. SIR in a rack and an instance of it put on every drum track. I set only the snare to wet,but they were all still delayed a beat. I also had a volume/pan filter in the rack so I could pan the delay a bit off center.

what delay?

think he ment reverb

or maby he has 2 vst's in the rack?

yep, meant reverb..sorry. I have one VST in the rack, and then the volume/pan filter tht comes with T

Well it works for me. :? if you have your MIDI parts on a seperate track, that will also need a send filter..
