Hello,
Can you tell me what plugin do you use for adding Sub bass to KICK, or maybe the way to do it...
I know that in logic there is a plugin called SUB BASS, but i use CUBASE SX...

EQ maybe, boost around 40 hz? You could also try MDA subsynth (I think that's it's name). You can also layer kick drums, one subby one under a standard kick?

Hi fiki,
). However, Sound on Sound, when they reviewed version two said that the magic EQ was the ultimate kick drum enhancer (or words to that effect). We've just released version 3 which adds a bunch of new stuff. You can find out more on this thread:

If you download the demo and check it out, I'd be interested to hear what you think.
Thanks
Ben

sometimes i use logic's subbass plugin. waves RBass in the rennaissance collection actually doesn't sound half bad either... avoid Maxxbass like the plague though -- horrible. what i like more than any plugin, though, is my dbx subharmonic synth

A midi kick or an audio track? If triggering a midi kick, I would simply trigger another sub-kick with the same midi note. Linplug RMIV does it for me - the synth kicks can be tuned for some serious low end.
If an audio track of a real kick, you could use an audio-2-midi and trigger a sample. Or use a gate or compressor with side chain and modulate a synth playing a continous sub sine wave. (I know some respected audio engineers have done this on commercial records).

Probably not exactly what you're after but this can be handy:

(besides EQ of course!)

Maxxbass is not supposed to add low end though. And i think the same holds true for RBass. What MaxxBass does is compress (and eq) the original and create harmonics based on the signal in higher frequencies so that a $5 boombox can hear a bit of your bass too. This is based on psychoacoustics,as it has been discovered that if we hear the higher harmonics we mentally reconstruct the fundamental on our own.neverwhere2012 wrote:sometimes i use logic's subbass plugin. waves RBass in the rennaissance collection actually doesn't sound half bad either... avoid Maxxbass like the plague though -- horrible. what i like more than any plugin, though, is my dbx subharmonic synth
