Advice needed. I'm using (or trying to use) Darbuka as an RTAS plugin in ProTools. It comes up okay and seems to synchronize fine with the PT's midi implementation - sees the PT host tempo, triggers when asked, audio comes into PT fine, etc. But while I can record midi information in a PT track, the minute I try to record the Darbuka audio, PT crashes followed by that very ugly Mac crash where you see a dark veil drop over the desktop with the ominous message, "You need to restart your computer..." Any ideas?

Specs:

Mac G4 Quicksilver, 993 Mhz, 1.25 GB RAM
OSX 10.3.9

ProTools HD2, version 6.2.3

Emagic MT4 midi interface, Apple Midi Setup utility latest version.

The session in question is a simple one. A dozen or so other midi tracks (mostly muted), a dozen 16 bit/44.1 audio tracks playing off a reliable firewire drive.

Also, Reason Adapted (another PT sound-producing plugin) works just fine.

solution found, courtesy of Lars...installing the RTAS version of the Darbuka plugin ALSO requires installing the AU update (available on the Wizoo website) when using Core Audio in OS X (not just with Logic as suggested by the documentation)...
