It looks cool to me, but I have all I need with sonar 4, project 5-2, FL5, and reason 3. Someday I will get O plat though...

(let's see if that makes Bones appear ;) )
Is this what they call Bone-bating?

I think the thread needs to be in BOLD ITALIC simply using bold is not enough..

I still use Orion Plat quite a bit; its' hardware paradigm(can you say that word around here? hell, can I even spell it?)
made it a natural for me.
It can be a bit flaky at times, but everything else is too.

A little too flaky over here. :( I really like Orion. I have Pro and want to upgrade to Platinum, but I get alot of crashes, and that's on 2 different machines. I guess it's a hardware issue. But if it's stable, then it really is an awesome host.

Rich (Synapse) tends to be quite active on the forums too, so dev support is pretty close to the userbase.

Thank you all for your input!

My experience thus far with Orion Platinum has been very good. It took a bit of getting used to since there is not any type of tracking window (just the Piano Roll), but the more I use it the more the Piano Roll actually makes tracking and editing a bit easier, so I am adjusting just fine. I have had some trouble with Rewire tho. I have trouble opening other hosts via Rewire within Orion, but not rewiring Orion from within another host (why?? :help: ). All in all I think Orion Platinum is amazing-it is has given me a new way to sequence, sounds good, and it is really easy to use. :D

I am sticking with it!!!

gotta add, the latest version seems very stable..and I've used it the last few weeks as the host for running the vsti's I use on my gig.

Orion is the most underrated soft studio in the music industry today. And sadly, it doesn't get the respect it deserves at time because of smaller market compare to FLS or Reason.

BTW, I'm a FLS & Live user. 8)

Morning lads, not much to add really. Maybe one or two things. Cabinfever, if you don't like the look of the mixer, change it! Or use one of mine. Stoney, the samples are OK but they tend to concentrate on a few, maybe less useful, things that you may or may not like. I use a few of the basic UltranWMS soundsets but not really much else. The good thing about it is that ORION works with every popular format so you can load up almost anything into the Sampler or you can make your own multi-sampled instruments.
I haven't had an issue with stablity in 3 years or more, although I only use 3 or 4 VSTi so maybe that's part of it. As a beta-tester I know that if you can give Rich a reproducable bug, he will track it down and fix it quickly. So far its survived the trip to London and is working fine here in Munich. All things being equal, I expect it to perform flawlessly in Leipzig on Saturday night.

I'm not a professional, just a home studio and a hobby.....But i have tried several different hosts, and OP is by far the easiest to use. I wouldn't swap it for anything on the market today!

Orion is good I use it. But the sequencer and the midi editor is utter crap. Even compared to CMuzys which is years old now.
