Ok, very basic question, bare with me please i recently just started making music.

I load up battery in Cubase SX 2, now when i look in the mixer i see Bty1 untill Bty8 as channels there, why is there 8? Now i can hide or show the midi channels i have added, so when i add a midi channel in the sequencer there is automatically a Midi channel added to the mixer (unless the unhide midi channel button is active).

Ok, i load up a kick and assign it to midi channel 1 in battery. Now i load up a snare and set it to midi channel 2 in battery. This is just an example, what i want to accomplish here is being able to insert different effects to the different midi channels (i.e. a delay effect for midi channel 1 and a flnager for the snare on midi channel 2).

Now when i try to add an effect in the mixer by going to the edit button on the midi channel, theres only the small list of options of effects that come by default in cubase.. (arpache/transformer etc) but i don't want themn, i want my own effects.

If i go to the edit button of the battery channel i can add them but then that effect is for both the kick and the snare, not what i want! i really don't have a clue, what am i doing wrong? :?

When you click on each cell it's assigned output channel is visible in the lower right hand corner, ie; you'll see a 1+2, or 3+4. When you click & drag ON the number display you will change that cell's outputs.
