Sorry to hijack your thread here...but since we're on the topic of distortion...i'm working on a massive distortion plug....it's gonna be bigger than Izotope's Trash VST! It's gonna be a huge semi-modular distortion plug with plenty of modes and filters and whatnot. I've got the idea...and i'm talking to a vst dev about constructing it. hopefully, one day soon
peace!

Yes, you're right.kodama wrote:Ummm, I think you guys need to take the word classic out of these requests and tell Torben what you will pay $$$ for and how much
Being unemployed, I can spend $0, but that's just economics (in the etymologically correct sense). I feel that a Golden-class amp sim could sell well if priced in the $50-$100 range, especially if it could do a good clean "warmifying" sound -- something which no freeware plug seems to do well enough to satisfy me. The "Golden Stack" would be killer on many levels.
I love Trash, but it has too many features I'd never use to justify its price. ReValver is the right price, but it doesn't satisfy me. Warmifier is superb, but not enough of an amp sim. So basically, I'd see the Golden Stack as the perfect blend of all these -- a few superb sounds at a reasonable price.
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

The mind boggles at this promise! My spies inform me that TotcProductions wrote:Sorry to hijack your thread here...but since we're on the topic of distortion...i'm working on a massive distortion plug....it's gonna be bigger than Izotope's Trash VST! Still, I tend to prefer smaller plugs that do just one thing very well. I'd suggest adding an export/compile function: not only is that easier for the user, but you could sell or give away little gems as tasters of the real power of your product. Another way cool thing would be to let users design and download their own sim -- although the design cycle could be a bitch...

since we're in the mood for requests here's my plan for Torben's next 12 months
Classic Amp Sim
Classic Cabinet Sim
Classic Impulse Response Convolution
And then you have my permission to make some VSTis
Classic Acoustic Piano
Classic String Quartet
Classic Drums and Percussion
In between you can do some Gold versions of the same!
Seriously though, Torben you are providing a fantastic service to the music community with your free plugins. You obviously have some excellent DSP programming skills, but are equally talented in UI design. Giving away such good plugins for free is a bold marketing move and I hope it pays off for you.
I have to say I'm very tempted by the GUP group buy. I need to make my mind up soon though.

I'd prefer:
Golden Delay
Golden Vocoder (a clone of Electrix Warpfactory would be nice
such a defined & ballsy bass which I haven't heard anywhere else)
Golden Reverb
Golden Saturator
Golden Filter/Phaser

Here'd by my list:
Golden Delay: featuring Digital & Analog models (I especially want that old Boss DS-1 8 bit delay sound that made those wierd untape-like digital gringing noises when shifting delay times).
Golden Transient Shaper: I dunno, just don't have one of these yet and they seem like fun.
Golden Vocodor: sounds good to me Kraku.
Golden Filter: Mmmmmm...
Golden Leslie: We still don't have a great Leslie plug-in, and something tells me Torben could nail it.
Golden Multiband: I don't really use multiband comps often (I'd rather clean up the mix) but I could see having 4 or so GCO-1's as being extremely useful, and probably easy to develop on Torben's end. Would make a hell of a bass compressor too I'd imagine.
Golden MasterEQ: Why not a linear phase EQ to round out the package?
Classic Ringmod: I don't really need a ring modulator, but I wouldn't mind a good one to keep around w/ the other classic series plugs, for those random moments where I'm playing with sounds.

I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

Not to say it's a bad idea, but I highly doubt we'll see a multiband--or really, any dynamics plugs--from Kjaerhus next (with the possible exception of a GCO-2, of courseGolden Multiband: I don't really use multiband comps often (I'd rather clean up the mix) but I could see having 4 or so GCO-1's as being extremely useful, and probably easy to develop on Torben's end. I'm all for a Golden Distortion or Filter though. Filterscape is an excellent option for now, but I'd like to see what Torben can do, especially since Classic Auto-Filter is my current favorite simple filter.

I totally agree with a Golden Vocoder, the only one that I have ever heard that was any good was the Orange Vocoder, and since I use the classic EQ and all in every project, I know you could kick the markets ass with a Vocoder! I would surely buy it, you Vokator which is way too much and for too much money, but then you got orange vocoder which is good but not good enough, but it has a reasonable price (if they still sell it). I could so see you getting paid off of a Vocoder
