I spend last hour trying the CurveEQ and WOW! This is really great. I wonder why I did not see this listed on KVR list first time.
Amazing EQ, the latency makes me sad. The minimum phase mode is my favorite, wow this sounds so good!!!! I do not beleive minimum phase mode should have latency with it from what I know of the method. Should I email the author about why this is happening?
So flexible this EQ, this is so amazing! If someone want to sell their plugin, tell me!

how about supporting the dev, alesky, and buying it from him like most people have done.dee ess pee wrote:So flexible this EQ, this is so amazing! If someone want to sell their plugin, tell me!
This is why companies don't like to do license transfers...instead of someone buying it from the company...they just wait...sometimes months, to find it from another user....they make no money this way. kinda sux for them. think about it.
peace.

Try some of his other stuff too. Soniformer2 is a great (and as far as I've seen, unique) master compressor. Soo much control!!dee ess pee wrote:I spend last hour trying the CurveEQ and WOW! This is really great. I wonder why I did not see this listed on KVR list first time.

I haven't had as much luck with Crunchessor, though I did think it sounded outstanding on clean guitar, especially in front of SF2.

True, but you could say the same about anybody buying anything used, like a used car. I'm sure GM would like it if everyone only bought new cars.TotcProductions wrote:how about supporting the dev, alesky, and buying it from him like most people have done.dee ess pee wrote:So flexible this EQ, this is so amazing! That said, Alesky's prices are good and his is one of the best sets of processors, IMO. Well worth the asking prices.

His other stuff doesn't have bad latency so I was also wondering about this. Must be a good reason. He does have a utility for delaying other tracks if your workstation isn't doing a good job of it, though I think it is primarily intended for mastering. Forget about using it live.dee ess pee wrote:Amazing EQ, the latency makes me sad. The minimum phase mode is my favorite, wow this sounds so good!!!! I'm not sure we really disagree. I'd love to have Universal Audio in my racks and have Coles ribbon mics on all my amps and own an Oberheim SEM 8 voice in perfect condition and a Mason and Hamlin model A, etc. etc.dee ess pee wrote:

Im sorry we disagree, but that is ok. I do not care to put any expensive into my music. I spend much sweat, tears and time working on it.
Putting a price on acquiring what I think are the best tools so I can perform my art and engineering I think I would be cheating myself.
I do not use VSTi, I just play bass guitar and drums. I make a lot of electronic influenced music with my bass and drums. I spend a lot of time on my Mac making my own software to serve my needs. Now I work on PC with music and am learning the new tools.
Tritone looking interesting. Is the UI in it slow for everyone?
I don't think it's wrong for great music products to be expensive, I just...regret...that they are expensive.
I play synth, samples, piano, bass, acoustic and electric guitar, sing, and produce my music myself, so my money is very divided, thus my nose for good deals.
I'm liking TriTone, Voxengo, and Kjaerhus in the price to performance ratio.

At 350 euros together, the Sonalksis eq and comp are very good priced, considering their outstanding quality. For analog sounding devices you won't find anything to beat them. The only eq that has analog sound is HydraTone wich is
convolution so it's not so good for your cpu. I compared it with Sonalksis and was surprised of how good Sonalksis sounded. And by the way, the low cut filter of HydraTone sucks. I'm seriously considering buying the Sonalksis bundle.

Unfortuantely, I live in Bushland so my prices are higher. Still, the bundle may be worth it.OMU wrote:At 350 euros together, the Sonalksis eq and comp are very good priced, considering their outstanding quality. Oh yes, Tritone's Hydratone sounds beautiful and warm, and the fire knob can be used as a kind of exciter too.
I can't wait for their Compressor Squeezetone. (Well actually I can since I've got Ozone3 and PSP's Mix Pack & VW, but still)

I really think HT sounds excellent on mids (warm as you said), where Sonalksis has a more telephone like sound. But considering the small difference in price (150 for HT vs 175 - when bundled with the comp - for Sonalksis), the quality of low cut filter and the hit on the cpu, I would definately go forOcean Zen wrote:Oh yes, Tritone's Hydratone sounds beautiful and warm, and the fire knob can be used as a kind of exciter too.

Can we stay on the purpose of this thread? I love the discussion of eq likes and dislikes, but I do wish to know of processors not available for listings on KVR's search.
Id buy hydratone right if the UI was working good. It is not, and that is enough to sour me on the product for a while. Even if it works well soon I will forever remember my first 30 minutes of frustrations with it.
I would love to pay directly for CurveEQ. I am so surprised at the great quality of voxengo, this is new to me from PC world! I am trying more plugins and they are all so wonderful! It is so amazing.
Kjaerhus is great too, but I am thinking it is not specialized enough for me. I like the technical, specific nature of voxengo plugins. It gives me lots of room to make tweaks with.
What other gems are out there?

- Voxengo's licences are limited to 2 major upgrades anywayTotcProductions wrote:how about supporting the dev, alesky, and buying it from him like most people have done.dee ess pee wrote:So flexible this EQ, this is so amazing! If someone want to sell their plugin, tell me!
This is why companies don't like to do license transfers [...] they make no money this way.
- I wouldn't have bought all the Voxengo plugs I own if I couldn't resell them if needed
- the more you know and like a company the sooner you'll buy new stuff from them
(I got Wusikstation 2nd hand and paid the imminent upgrade to 2.0 immediately)
- not allowing licence transfers is illegal in many countries
- I dislike companies that don't respect my consumer rights
- there are many ways to support devs: recommend their products, share patches...
- many people can't afford even the cheapest apps... what if you're african and make $20 a month???
