I have one on layaway at a pawn shop and I was wondering if anybody on kvr has one. Do you like the sounds? How about those MIDI patterns Roland say they had top artists create for them. I was hoping to use them with soft synths and to control an old analog synth which is next on my list to get. I figured I'd MIDI-up the jx-305 and then analog(a Poly 800, maybe) and use the patterns for better-sounding analog basses, then record them in Sonar 3 somehow.
I'm hoping I can do that. Also, Is the 305 any good as a keyboard controller. I see that it has several real-time control knobs. I wanna hook it up to my Delta III and do filter sweeps.

i always thought the jx-305 was a cool board. basically it's the keyboard version of the MC-505 groovebox. slightly larger soundset and a few extra features. you'll have fun with it.

hello,
i bought a jx-305 in 2001, i was looking for a cheap synth with cool sounds. in fact, i never had any pleasuse using it. There are some cool sounds, organs (patch E55 or E56, can't remeber), a few basses and fx, and that's all. In average, all the sounds are "weak". Using midi with cubase sx and midex 8 wasn't that funny. I had to sell it for only 200$, nobody wants it :(

Try it before you buy.

Hi
I thought I'll post the question here as I searched the internet and found no info on the JX-305 OS 1.07. I currently have the 1.06 running and all is fine..
So do you know by any chance what changes are programmed into the chip in 1.07 ?...to cut it short..if there are nice
changes applied to the effects then I may think of smashing that Enter button.
Thx for any info in advance.

Also a smartmedia card is hard to get...
No wonder ...22y old synthesiser....

Anyone else still using it??
Looks like Bitwig is nicely communicating with the synth. And JX can record sequencer data from bitwig to patterns n stuff.
A great update would be the Roland Fantom workstation. Damn expensive...but with the Scenes, Patterns, stuff - reminds me of the workflow in Bitwig ...
