Hey, just a couple quick questions to help me sort out my plug wishlist:
Can GCO-1 do what GPP-1 does?
Also, in GEQ-7, is there only knob control, or is there direct graphic manipulation also, like on the Voxengo EQ's?
Have you considered doing a reverb?
Thanks!
Dave

GPP-1 is basically a limiter with an adjustable knee size. GCO-1 has a hard/soft adjustment, but I don't think it works quite the same way. You'll probably be able to get similar results out of it in some, or even many cases, but it won't be exactly the same.
GEQ-7 doesn't have graphic manipulation.
There have been a lot of requests for a Golden Reverb lately, but with the recent glut of native reverbs, he didn't want to put one out just yet. So that's a definite maybe, sometime in the future.
I don't mean to sound too much like his agent or anything, but, well, I have seen these questions asked and responded to earlier, so I think I'm getting all of this right.

To save Torben having to state the obvious - why don't you download the demo's and see for yourself? I own GEQ-7 and GCO-1. You can't directly edit the eq graph - I don't consider that a problem, and even if I did the sound quality would convince me to buy it again if I had to. GCO-1 doesn't have sidechain - a small point of contention for existing GCO-1 owners.

Greetings,
Nothing much to ad here; Warmonger and greendoor are right. One little comment is that the GPP-1 has a brickwall where you can remove digital over's totally if so preferred.
Dragable notes are implemented in the GAC-1 and will be implemented in a later version of the Golden Equalizer (don't know when yet).

GUP looks good, but I'm thinking more GCO and GPP. GUP seems redundant if I had both the others.M'Snah........(aka HansM) wrote:Dave,
Get in the GUP groupbuy anyway, before it's too late.
I'm planning to buy Ozone, but I also need excellent mixing plugs. I have Crunchessor and Soniformer, so now I'm looking at Torben's craftwork.
RE: greendoor and the obvious. I just got started on PC recording (worked on an Akai recorder before) and I don't quite have material ready for mixing. I'm going to wait until then before I want to install and seriously test Torben's plugs, since they will be jockeying for pole position with Ozone as to what I buy next month (also in the running is a new large HDD).
Thanks to all,
Dave

GUP offers Sidechaining, and you can pick a frequency range to compress with GUP.Frippertronix wrote:I'm thinking more GCO and GPP. GUP seems redundant if I had both the others.
AFAIK you can't do that with GCO.
