It sounds like you just pulled out an old Johnny Cash tape by mistake... :D

Folsom Prison Blues was a cool song.

Maybe you could do a modernized, Timmi Hendrix(tm) version of that song? :)

take care,
McLilith

naw..it was a Band of Gypies tape and he did that song. I could do a modern version of Porky Pig?

now to stay on topic...I found that these plugins work well on VST's..like cameleon and WusikStation. Another trick I tried was chaining 6 Synth1's together in eXT and having camel space at the bottom acting as a master filter and effects generator so it sounds like one big instrument.

Yes, I've been playing with combining several parallel instances of Cameleon5000, with CamelPhat3 and CamelSpace, inside the Forte Ensemble host. You can get some extremely rich sounds that way.

When I'm not using Cameleon, I sometimes load up one or more instances SFZ, with some basic samples. Then, I feed them through various combinations of CamelPhat3 and CamelSpace. Even the most ordinary sounding samples can be given a completely new lease on life this way. :)

You should also try routing live singing or talking into these plugins. While they weren't meant to be a "channel strip" optimized for vocals, you can get some really wild effects that way. I'm listening to myself talk right now, as it's being processed first by CamelSpace, and then by CamelPhat3. :)

I'm in the process of putting together a newsletter for all the CP2 owners. Some of the reasons to upgrade are:

- 2 LFOs routable to any destination
- 9 new filter types (comb, ring-mod, notch, peak, LP/BP/HP in smooth mode as well as fat mode)
- bit crusher
- xcita (aka enhancer)
- stunning interface with XY pad
- 128 great presets
- available as an Audio Unit
...plus lots of other useful stuff like extra controls for the compressor, magic EQ, flanger.... More info at:
http://www.camelaudio.com/camelphat.php

Also, I'd recommend you check out CamelSpace. Its pretty handy on a wide variety of stuff. Its got a really nice 'trance gate' which you can set up to send stuff to the autopanner, filter cutoff and such like. This means you can create some really cool filter patterns. CP2 owners get an upgrade deal to Phat-Space. As usual, I recommend checking out the demos. More info at:

Thanks
Ben

There are so many enhancements, I wouldn't have criticized Ben if he had decided to call it CamelPhat4. :)

Wow, upgraded tonight from CP2 and got CamelSpace as well ... not had this much pissing around fun in years, and I really mean that. :)

Cameleon, Z3ta+, CamelPhat3 and CamelSpace in Orion = pure heaven.

And I doubt the first drag of a spliff in a month had feck all to do with it. 8)

EDIT: ...and there is even a 'Tarnce' preset in CamelSpace

Cool! Thanks very much :D Glad you like them.

BTW. There's another thread over in the Camel Audio forum with more comments from various folk about the new plugins:

I've just stuck up a couple of 'acidy' demos up from CypherOne. These all have the dry version first, and then the same thing played through various presets.

Yes - you have Jim to thank for that one. Not a bad, preset either, I reckon. Anyone checked out the 'Talking Violin' preset? I reckon its awesome - one of Tims, that one.

Thanks

I've just uploaded some more wee demo mp3's - have listen here:

A couple of CamelSpace preset demos by Tim Conrardy:

Combing Space by Tim Conrardy

The Edge by Tim Conrardy

And some CamelPhat3 demos by Baggio:

DnB Drums by Baggio

House Drums by Baggio

Bass demo by Baggio (watch those woofers ;-0 )

All demos consist of a dry uneffected loop at the start followed by the effected sound.

And if you don't yet own CamelSpace or CamelPhat3, you now have a great chance to win a free copy, or even both plugins!!! :

I tried the demos. These are great sounding plugins.
Although I have a problem with these:
Graphics/Mouse almost freezes when GUI is open. I had the same problem with ndcBufferSynth2 (not fixed yet). All functions are working in these plugins, but with very slow response.
Anyone other with this problem ?
i7 870, 8GB RAM, ATI Radeon Sapphire, RME Multiface,
Win7 Home/64bit, Studio One 3 Professional/64bit, Wavelab8/64bit

Hi Peter

We are aware of some graphical flickering problems, and we are working with Steinberg on their VSTGUI library to fix the problem.

Your problem seems worse than normal though, could you fill out a support request at the website with more information, such as host, platform, OS etc? Please also ensure you have all your graphics drivers etc updated.

Cheers

Jim
