Is there an effect that takes every nth sample and gives it an amplitude of "Y"? Also you can modulate n and Y. Is this even possible in an effect? If not, how could I process audio in a similar way? I want screwed up digital effects yo!

Okay, I obviously have no idea what is really possible with digital audio. Could somebody please explain why this is or isn't possible or how it could(n't) be achieved?

it would be very simple, but what you mention wouldnt really be much of an "effect" as the "processing" is disregarding the input signal. I could do this in 2 minutes if you'd like to hear it.

sure, im interested in patterns and abstract ideas and what it would sound like to do this. I realize it isn't an effect, its like replacing instead of adding, and will probably sound like shit but thats what i'm after.

to hear your effect:
1) turn down the volume faders 2 3 4
2) set the FX on A to funkadil
3) Y axis is your "n", X axis is the amplitude ("y") for Left and Right inverse (width knob). Z axis (ball size) is level.

Okay, a was a little dissapointed at first, still thought it was cool. Then when I put the envelope thing on it actually became useful for distortion. THank you!
