"adobe aint cheap"

nope but it's cheaper than its alternatives which are wave-lab
or sound forge, also beatcreator is cheaper than its alternative which is
recycle . I should know this cos I'm a tight git :hihi:
But really I'm usually very skint so I get whichever I can afford.:(
Beatcreator is like recycle on steroids, not only is it a beatslicer but it also has extras like multi track editing, a top class pitchshift/timestretcher, pattern controlled processing,
and you can export to rex and map which I like alot.
And back on topic it will do a good job of teling you the note of a sample.
BTW both BC and AA have demos which I think will tell you the notes in a sample.
Good luck :)
