Every time I go to the Steinberg site the link to the file just times out!

Hmm, are any of those minor version patches worth installing? Not bothered to upgrade beyond SX 3.0.1 yet as I heard there were problems with 3.0.2 when it first came out. Where are the release notes?

622 is a big upgrade. 623 is a patch for 622 to fix disk/video issues caused by some of the changes in 622. You have to patch to 622 before installing 623.
Look at the list of 622 fixes and see if any of them affect you. The only fix that is of any importance for me was the fix for the db Law. The rest of it was fluff and a total waste of a release.
The only minor fix that might interest you is that when you split a midi event it used to zero out transpose/velocity on one or both of the split notes. That was semi-fixed.
