Has anyone tried it yet????

Image

man that thing looks tastefull.... and if it's the same algo as my beloved BLT ...well this is going to be a fun to try out

I'm gone to poland for the weekend but will try it out from Wednesday :D

the Pace thing may be strange for some, but honestly I have never had problems with my iLok so far and it feels more like owning the Plug-in then it does with C/R

cheers,
mully

The price is psycho.
aka rktic. demoscener (Farbrausch, Holon, MFX, Still), sound designer, ux-dude, sth @AudioRealism, human synthesizer—not necessarily in that order.

well it's 199 for me... and yeah it's a bit too pricey for me, too at the moment... anyway I will try it and am afraid to fall in love anyway ;)

Not really - at least not if it actually does a good job of emulating the real thing. Check how much it'd cost you to get a real one. And the other option would be UAD - which means you have to buy the card as well as the plugins. And if it really does sound like a Pultec, then the price is actually good. There's a huge difference between an analogue sounding good Eq than most of the bland-sounding digital wallpaper ones that are available for less money

Hell...there's even a great difference between average analogue Eqs and bland digital ones - I used to regularly use strong Eq sweeps on the mids on my midrange desks in the past(not fantastic, but certainly useable) - nowadays I rarely if ever use much Eq - I won't touch most Native Eqs with a bargepole for that kind of strong FX-type Eq'ing...try boosting most Native Eqs with an octave bandwidth at over 10dB and they just sound nasty. :?

Where do you get for 199 ?

Yeah, it is pricey, but I am already a super-happy-user of the URS A and demoed the BLT and I am sure, I will have to buy this one. Just downloading my demo license.

Next they will release the Mix and URS S series ? Dude, Il will have to sell one of my children, can't feed them anymore :-)...

well as a happy owner of the BLT it's only a €199 upgrade for me....

and yeah I guess I might eat a bit less for some month now

loving my new BLT.......
I could never get into lettuce on bacon butties...vegetables on a classic sandwich just doesn't do it for me....Stick to the classics. Bacon, cheese and Branston Pickle - can't go wrong with that.

So you really dig that BLT? I was thinking about getting it because it's half-price right now.

I'm curious: how are you finding it useful? Bass? Drums? Mixes? Is it a secret weapon?

well it's superb on mixes to add some sweetness... I love it on drums and bass, too

actually I use it on every track nowadays with different settings of course....

I kinda see it as the built in channel mixer on my old 8Track Multitrack Cassette Recorder (Yamaha MT8X) where mixing was easier, without all those choices *gg*

I honestly am going back to use just very few plugs.. it's easier and the system doesn't get cluttered, too

my setup now is:

EQ: BLT and T-RackS
Dynamics: T-RackS
Modulation: Mobilohm
Instruments: M-Tron, BFD, MiniMONSTA, my guitar, my voice and my bass (I'll add GURU to that list but that's about it then)
Reverb: Princeton Digital, SIR

that's it

I can definetly see the FullTec in there ;)

Yeah, for five hundred dollars!!! Pheeooo...somehow I don't think I can talk my boss into picking that one up.

Thanks for the quick response, Multree. I too am trying to pare down my VST lists to something reasonable (and then TbT releases a new plug, better than the last!). But seriously well-programmed EQ's are top on my list, as you can really hear the difference in mixes when you're using, say, Eqium instead of Cubase's native EQ's. And most of the time, I'm just rolling off unwanted highs and lows, so an immaculately made 2-band, low CPU plug sounds just about right.

Damn, I keep forgetting I have to buy an iLok key too, so that would make it over $100 CAD. Hmmm...

Multree, the Fulltec upgrade is $199, not euros.;)

Also, bduffy, I think you're looking at the TDM price. The native one is half the price.

Post

oh that's even less then ;)

No, no: I meant including the iLok, which I don't own. Supposed to be about $40-ish, I hear.

guess he was refering to this ;)
