I just bought a REAL Rhodes Mark I Stage 73, born on August 25, 1977.
is the date of manufacture buried in the serial number somewhere? I'd be curious to know how old my Rhodes is (also a MkI Stage 73

There are two 4-digits numbers inside the Rhodes, besides the serial number.
The number printed on the pickup assembly says the week of the year and the year, for example mine says 3277 which is 32nd week of year 1977, and it's the date when the pickup rail was finished.
The number printed on the tonebars rail, says week, year and day, mine says 3574, which is 35th week of year 1977, working day 4 (tuesday), and that is the date when the whole instrument was finished.
I've consulted an online calendar, and counted the weeks of the year 1977. 35th week, working day 4 is 25 August.
