I spent some more time with foorius during the weekend, and the low CPU load actually surprised me. I got really deep & complex sounds out of it, and the CPU meter didn't get crazy even after adding effects. Bitcrushed FM arps layered with smoothly filtered bell pads is something I couldn't pull easily from my other synths
Any news on the "last envelope" point bug? It's rather annoying, especially on the filter envelope.
And do the LFOs really go to 1.00 depth? I found the effect to be very subtle on the filter & waveshape, but that could also have been result of many other things.

When will an update be available for floorius?

Used Foorius for this song just posted in Music Cafe. Actually the songs pretty old now, as I did it the moment I tried Foorius - but Xander came in recently to do the vocals which made it all come together.

But for the Foorius fans here - it won't be hard to guess which patch I used to form the song around.
Strikingly different even from the experimental norm of music. For those that are daring, enjoy!

I just got my nag-free version yesterday and am absolutely loving it. However the sustain pedal on my keyboard isn't working with Foorius. It works with the Steinberg VSTi's I have so I assume this is something I have simply neglected to select or edit with Foorius. Unfortunately as a guitarist who just happens to really love complex synth textures my midi knowledge isn't the greatest. The manual at first glance doesn't appear to offer much information on this. Any tips?
I am using Cubase SX 3.02 Build 623, Windows 2000 Sp4, AMD 2400+, 1.2 Gb RAM, Tascam US-428 USB interface with a Yamaha keyboard as a midi controller. Apart from the bundled VSTi that came with SX3 I also have a Waldorf PPG Wave 2.V and Steinbergs The Grand.
Thanks.

Awesome update! But.. I think its either the legato or the portamento thats buggin out in the higher notes when you have a saw wave. Set all the env's to legato and set portamento to about 8 and when notes are played legato style, little clicks appear.

Though I am absolutely loving this synth and will do my best to promote it (I started a thread here at the Cubase forum to do this) I have to agree with Pakana. Is there anyway these images could be removed? Also, even more oscillator options (square wave, sine etc.) would be cool. Finally, a switch to HTML Help would perhaps provide a more modern 'vibe' to the help file. Any tutorials you could throw in there would be fantastic too (I feel I am getting a little over demanding now...). I work as a programmer and would be more than happy to convert your RTF Help files to HTML Help and compile it if you liked (though you would still have to edit the source code for the popups). PM me if you are interested.pakana wrote:Is there any chance to turn off the changing images on fx page? They are cool but distracting and possibly a waste of resources...
Thanks for all your hard work Doogs, I really am finding Foorius a revelation.

Yet another feature request. At the moment to create your own sounds it seems you have to start with a preset or load a bank that has preset spaces free. It would be great if there was a 'New Preset' option or button which reset everything to something resembling default settings. ie. 'standard' ADSR envelopes, no effects or LFOs activated etc. This begs the question 'what are default settings' for a synth like this I know, but I was wondering if something along these lines was possible?
Edit: Just discovered this exists already. Under the 'Preset' tab right click a preset and from the popup menu select 'Init'.

I wanted to have a listen to the tone of the raw oscillators by themselves. I set the volumes for all oscillators apart from 'A' to zero. I then set the amplitude pitch and velocity scales to 'flat' and loaded the Linear ADSR.fev envelope into the amplitude and filter envelopes (these .fev files are cool, but not noted in the manual). Finally I set the pitch and waveshape envelopes to arpeggiator mode and checked they were completely flat. All LFOs were disabled, filter was set to 'Thru', all midi was disabled. However when playing a note using the built in keyboard on key release there was a dull click. All the oscillators appeared to suffer from this??
I know there are a large range of digital oscillator options but plain old square, sine and pulse wave oscillators in addition to the current PWM, Saw, Digital, Noise (etc) ones would be fantastic.
Thanks.

Hi Doogs,
Would it be possible to have user defined waveforms as oscillators? That is, some sort of window where we could 'draw' in a waveform, save it and then use that as an oscillator?

When opening a Cubase SX 3.02 project that uses Foorius it takes considerably longer to load Foorius than any other plugin I have, including the Grand piano VSTi which has to load a huge number of samples into RAM. As it opens a project Cubase reports what its doing. When it gets to the 'Loading Foorius..." part I could almost have time to make a coffee. Is this to be expected Doogs?

I hope i'm not insulting anyone, but i think that i am getting noise in the upper range of the saw/tri waveforms. Don't know if this is aliasing or what?
