Hey emdot_ambient 8) Good points. Ginger Rodgers eh? I am no dancer, but she was really something.

this is bloody fantastic! listen to this folks! do it now!

virtuoso playing in a very imaginative piece that combines different jazz styles and keeps grabbing one's attention!

no tight-assed musician syndrome here... some parts are almost, er, freaking out like.

Beautiful little outro too.

one for my newly acquired 256MB mp3player :)

thanks guys!

That was good therapy. I can't find it right now but I will search the PMG site and see if it is still up.

Damn! I've never been a Metheny fan, but he definitely scored a ton of points with me here. Someone needed to say it, and I'm glad is was a professional in the genre.

I used to be a Metheny fan, and that article is very impressive. So, as the man recommends, let's boycot Kenny G :D

Great stuff. Thanks Herodotus! :D

Wow, Metheny is f**king spot on! What a brave man!
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

As a long-time Metheny fan I was proud as punch when I first read that article.

Btw has anyone seen any of the latest PMG tour?

Leave my hero alone  :hihi:

Seriously, respect to Metheny for telling it how it is.. Not a big fan of his stuff although his work with Steve Reich was outstanding (Electronic Counterpoint et al).
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

See the interview on the MOTU site with Bob Rice (can you say FZ's studio engineer).

It's a good read.

This diatribe is remarkable given that Pat is one of the most generous and courteous people you will ever meet. Everyone I know who has waited around after PMG shows and been lucky enough to speak with man will attest to this.

Shockingly blunt talk from Metheny!
I don`t disagree with him on any Kenny bashing statement.
...But...I do see something underneath it all.
You might agree with me if I say..."what Kenny G does has no real impact on me".So...I might ask Pat, "why all the interest in what Kenny G does?"
Here`s what I think;(beardedone knows how I feel already)
I feel that Pat is jealous of K.G.s success.
I feel that Pat is trying to make it,(or has),in the same market as KG,(easylistening jazz),and he`s sick and tired of the comparisons being made between his music and KG.

Pat is an extra ordinary player/musician,and i WAS a fan of his for yrs.
But with his more recent recordings, and his shlocky approach to writing...he is a sell out of sorts no better then KG IMO.

This oppinion i`m sure is not popular...but it`s my own.
........................................

Good tune there Markleford!
Liked the "KEITH TIPPET" style keyboard work.
Couldn`t say enough good things about that guitar work and sound!
I`d love to play a real drum trk for it...but I know i`ll never get to it...so no promises. : (
....................Don`t blame me for 'The Roots', I just live here. :x
