good luck...I ordered decabuddy december 1st...I cancelled the order when it said available jan 30th I cancelled it...during my wait time I emailed a friend from Akai service. That's when I learned he was no longer with Akai, that Akai had been aquired by Numark...and his words were "I hope they don't destroy the good name of Akai, but they will". I bought chorus ensemble but have been following deccabuddy, it's still not available (if anyone finds a source please pm me)...
The first hit I got on google when using just the word decabuddy as a search term takes you to a place where you can buy it:

Crap! I had played around with the demos of DeccaBuddy and Pitchright a while ago and really enjoyed them (not perfect, but still a lot of fun), and kept planning on picking them up at some point. Damn.

I can't remember -- is there any kind of challenge-response with AKAI plugs? Or do you just have to have your serial number? (I'm hoping not to get Bitheadz-ed.)

Must insert CD once, type in serial once.
No need ever again to input the original CD.
Plugin works great.

Thanks. That's what I thought, but it's been a long time since I installed DC Vocoder and Decabuddy. :-) And as you said, after that you can forget it... so I did. (I might have to switch to a newer machine before long. This one's beginning to act up.)

BTW, I had trouble with the versions on the CDs, but downloaded updates from Japan and was All Right.

now there is an oxymoron "Alesis/Numark/Akai Customer Support"...absolutely without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever dealt with was Alesis/Numark and they screwed me good the jerks, I was gonna take them to court but the stress wasn't worth the 100 bux it cost me. The fact that Akai itself is no longer, I doubt the customer service will improve...btw in retail I heard more complaints and bad stories about Numark then all the other companies combined, I didn't want to sell them because I felt bad when I did.
