As well as being an aspiring electro-musician, I am also a chronic karaokaholic. I was working on the idea of what I call a premix community that I'm thinking about setting up a server for. To explain what a premix is-this is a remix before it hits the radio. In other words, we create an alternate-genre recording of any song our little hearts desire, i.e. a techno version of Call Me by Blondie or bluegrass version on Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus, or whatever. Submit the song (preferably without vocals) so other karaoke heads/electro musicians can share. The cost would be nothing to join, because we would exchange songs free (to avoid copyright issues, obviously) I was just wondering if this sounded like a pretty cool idea to anyone else out there????
