Since its not possible (due to ASIO shortcomings) to use an audio editor without closing host, I was thinking if there is any type of editing plugin tool out there for simple cuts, fades & adding silence?

My host can already do cuts, fades and adding silence. I'd be surprised if there are many that cant.

You can do fades, cuts, and add silence with Ableton Live. Learn to use it instead of bad mouthing it.

Ok. My bad. I thought you were saying it was a host that didn't offer those things.

What audio editor are you using? You can do most everything in Live. I use Sound Forge for deeper work and it opens just fine, running at the same time as Live.
