this is true. but tone deaf people can't back that up with fact, such as I'm about to do with this particular situation.
the audio world is waiting with baited breath. i'll call a press conference.
well I hope your assemblage is in order. I was going to take the time to go track-by-track and point out every obvious bit here and there, but since so much of it is just 'overall', I won't waste my time. basically what you have is an unpolished album with music that virtually lacks all high end, is hard limited to the point of detriment and mixed REALLY poorly. on top of that (or, underneath that, I should say), you have weakly processed thin sounding vocal lines that are consistently dry and uneffected regardless of the music surrounding it - and more often than not they are unintelligible and lost in the music. when I say that it was mixed poorly I mean, essentially, that overall instrument balance was substandard in that instruments would blare in eradicating pre-existing elements of the song, and/or instruments were not balanced so that all of them could be properly deciphered in the mix.

these points, in addition to the utter and total lack of post-production polishing lend to the opinion that the production quality was shit and that the entire cd sounded like a poorly engineered demo. if you would like a more specific and detailed analysis, you'll have to wait until I have more time.
who is the obtuse one?? no, i had nothing to do with the cd or trent.
obviously you're the obtuse one. that much is apparent. I was merely asking for some clarification regarding the way you worded the phrase "trent and I should listen to your music". especially considering that I've never heard your music, nor make any comments regarding your music prior to your statement.

Don't waste your precious time with pretentious detailed analysis nobody cares about. If you were about to explain us why blue is a better color than red, just remember this:
William Burroughs wrote: "Nothing is true, everything is permitted."
and that one too:
Picasso wrote: "When I don't have blue anymore, I use red."

It's all a matter of taste. Intel says the vocals are dry, I think there was a bit too much reverb on the vocals. Not a big complaint, as it's not that bad, but I'd prefer less effects as opposed to more.

And the instrument balance was fine. Which songs had something come in that drowned out the previous music? Perhaps you're listening over shitty earbuds or something, but WT sound great on my system.

Perhaps what you really didn't like about the new album is that it wasn't over-perfect. Music these days is touched up to the point where it's not truthful anymore. Radio music these days is like a big pair of fake tits. They may be big, but I prefer REAL ones.

Most all radio music since Pro Tools first hit the mainstream is nothing more than big, phoney tits. If you stare at Playboy too long, you may eventually forget what real breasts are like. Much the same, listen to too much "perfect" music, and eventually you forget what real music is all about.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go grope my girlfriend and play guitar.
Excuse all the blood.

You sir, sound like a man who has spent far too much time practicing and fondling his guitar, and has forgetten that real girls don't actually have names like Stratocaster and Telecaster.
