HI
Do not compare things like Elephant or limiters to the Inflator - I have both and more - Inflator puts a HUGE amount of level on your material without taking your meter reading any higher - you have to hear it to believe it, a popular VST brand compressor/limiter or whatever might put a little level on for you but it pales into insignificance when compared to Inflator.
Thats the rub, wether you need it or not is something quite different, but doesn't detract from a unique program that does its work with distinction.

you're 100% Right JonnySun 2.0.
the Oxford Tools are amazing, it takes you few minutes to figure this out, try an oxford plugin on one source, and use your casual plugins to achieve the same or better results, in some cases it's almost a useless battle. still there's a big issue with their plugin : after an oxford experience, you want them all
.
I don't understand why i should Boycott High Quality...

I don't know much about what's really going on in the background, though i know that it does an extensive use of psycho acoustic. it is dead easy to use (2 sliders). Some tools are working well if u want to compete in the Loudness Battle, but generally the result is really annoying, the inflator stays really musical and nice to listen to, your music gets indeed louder than the source, but without unwanted artifacts...when your signal gets 'hot' there's a kind of tube effect that makes your audio smoother rather than harsh. and it works equally well on full mixes or individual tracks, it gives a big console sound on the processed material, i found.

HI
What I was going to say was this - Inflator is a pro product aimed at people who are getting their music played on the dance floor or at least trying to compete within that scene - irrelative of the 'Artifacts' do you really expect your tune to get anything but a laugh when it follows some f**k-off D&B tune that AndyC has been pounding the crowd with only to think his amp has blown because your tune is half the volume - and do you really think those cone heads give a flyer about the subharmonic retrogressive onset of distortion over a 40K system.
As always a perspective needs to balance things, you would not drive a Jazz master through this plug - but for in yer face volume with balls its the chickens egg.

But I boycott them for the way the behave to day in the SOFTWARE market. I.E. Slow development pace of Acid and Vegas, releasing Alpha quality software as a 1.x product, and banning users that gripe from their forums. , even when they are legitimately looking for answers or are helpful members of the forum.JonnySun 2.0 wrote:Sorry, but i think this SONY bashing does not belong into this thread.
This Thread is about the Inflator, not about what Sony did yesterday in the hardware market ...

I must agree that Sony's ACID and VEGAS are developing at a snails pace compared to other hosts. Their implimentation of VST is criminal in it's negligence. But I still have and use both. Let's just hope that Sony gets taken over by god as I don't think the mergers business can reach any higher after Sony has bought everything.S_A_P® wrote:But I boycott them for the way the behave to day in the SOFTWARE market.
