Who's using Podium?

Still learning it but I think Podium is very cool. I'm very slowly learning the basics of it since I haven't had too much time to play around with it but I think it's definately headed in the right direction. I use FL for 99% of everything I do and this wont change, but I think Podium is what I'm looking for as a companion host that works differently. Sometimes you get interesting results doing things differently

having been a beta-tester I can indeed confirm that he usually goes to bed later than me which quite says something...Sielsynth wrote: It does indeed appear the developer never sleeps.

Ok Damn it, you guys are starting to tick me off. By reading your posts Podium sounds like a lot of things I'm looking for and have been beating my head up against the wall talking to the Sony developers over the years.
Can someone tell me where this website is that I can take a look for myself?

Still in search of sonic nirvana....

Hey Red, Podium is a great DAW. At the begiining you might be irritated by its hierarchical bus organisation (you have to create your own Master bus, etc...). I'm telling you this as an Acid user. But, when you get used to the keyboard shortcuts it's not an issue anymore.
This software, imo, is to be considered the next competitor to Cubase and Sonar. That doesn't mean it is better right now, but it sure means that it'll might get better than these two daw ^^

I paid for it today and are waiting for it to be sent
I am a bit confused still, but find it very logical in the things I have seen ( I am very weird and I really enjoy learning new stuff
)
I still use FL STUDIO for most of my songs, but needed a different approach for audio projects ( I play guitar)
Let´s see how will I use Podium and Energy Xt which I bought recently too. (support your local independent developers!!!!)

Also I just got this idea about a week ago that it was not really nice to depend on only one application.
I really love FL and I am starting to like EXT a lot too. Podium is still too fresh in my install, but I like the logical setting everything has.
Different appplications will give different ideas.

Podium is certainly the multitrack software most promising today.
At least for multichannel sound since it can handle busses, tracks and plugins with up to 32 channels.
The two other software which approaches its possibilities are EnergyXT and Tracktion, but without the support of the multichannel files (I don't speak about Steinberg, Apple, Magix etc. which are far, far away !).
So, for me, there is not real alternative to it.
I have the three, and I must recognize that Podium is also the most difficult and longest to use.
It is very logical, highly reliable, but it still misses a certain number of adjustment so that its use is comfortable for the composition.
But I have not doubt that it will be possible soon, because it has one of the best supports within the world (together with SynthMaker and EnergyXT…). This thing only justifies the investment of time and patience which are today necessary.

Thanks for the reminder thread about PODIUM. I went to his website and looked around and tried out the "video" about recording audio and midi and fell in love with Podium. I'm going to try the demo this week. What are the demo limitations? No save settings? Noise burst? Sound pauses? Limit tracks? I'm very curious before downloading. 15 Days - 30 Days?
It looks terrific.

Hi there
Podium's demo limitations are occasional sound pauses.
What i want to say to everyone is to give it a shot and if it covers your needs at least at a 50% ,buy it!
See it as an investment, give the developer your support and am sure that in a year from now it will be the No 1 host!
The price is ridicoulus so COME ON, give it a chance NOW and INVEST on it.
Sometimes in order to receive we have to give first...

If I remember correctly. The Limitation is a time one. It will work until june 2005 until they set up another one or something like that.RogerPerrin wrote:Thanks for the reminder thread about PODIUM. I just can´t remember. Really. Just go ahead and download it. It takes a while to understand how everything works, but I really think it is worth. I already received the full version
