A mix of both (panned L and R) would be cool. The samples sound nice. What mics/pre-amps did you use?
Thank you Herman, :)

48 volt pres. And two condensers, one of which is a rode (the ET one ;)

Good quality for both wavs.

I honestly couldn't tell a difference between the two.
Play it by ear

I've always liked Røde's for acoustic guitars. Most of the RAW collection has been recorded with an NT1a.

A lot later... 24-bit, of course; unzip..., ain´t that stupid. Both samples very good quality, but I prefer the ET one... f**king 24-bit, never gonna forget that... .. .

I prefer the tone of the first one...

I can hear the oscilating tone as well, in both samples but a lot less apparent in the first one. To me it sounds like it's actually a resonance from the guitar though, so the second microphone probably has a bit more detail or something in that frequency range... in this case that brings out unwanted stuff though. Still prefer the first one as said.

How about posting a processed version of the EM sample as well?

Yep! Rode's are very good for instruments, and the mid to high tones come out well I found.

Same here (even at relatively low volume on my El Cheapo headphones).

My conculsion,

Strings oscillate – in doing so they can also affect their neighbours, they will also resonate, maybe slower or faster, depending which string is struck and what strings are next to it. Depending how close (too close and it will phase big time) you place the mic, will depend on how or if resonance can be picked up – the EM mic was further away ;) therefore did not pick up on as much resonance. However the process can take it out if needed :D

Holly shit, Peter, you and your Copyright Spe3d,... I was just planning to sell your sample as the OneStringGuitar, in collaboration with the Tenacious D brothers. There goes a nice plan !

You are right poepe  – considering there are 45 one shot full length samples per string in the library :)

Hello! Lorenzo

love your post at the Auditorium (classic)

It takes quite a bit of time though to get just one guitar done right.
