I know you can in SONAR by unregistering the Rewire dll (regsvr32 /u dewire.dll) because it's implemented as a DX/DXi. Don't know if the same would work in P5.

Most Rewire Programs have a small program that you can use for register / unregister the program ans a Rewire client. For Windows, check in the program's menu for it, or search through the program's install directory.

If you are comfortable with editing your Registry, here is where the key is located...
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Propellerhead Software\ReWire]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Propellerhead Software\ReWire]

Just to add to this: when you load up, say, Live, it will automatically add its entry back into the registry Rewire list.JohnVulich wrote:If you are comfortable with editing your Registry, here is where the key is located...

In addition, Cubase SX for example, loads something of a Rewire client at start up and holds on to it. You can see this by observing memory use before and after deleting entries from the registry Rewire list, loading SX each time.
