Which s/w sampler do you think would be most cpu friendly for my 1300 athlon 1,5gb RAM?
Kontakt, Halion or Gigastudio?
...when using them for streaming sounds from hd and using internal fx.
Cpu friendly?

I think they are about equally friendly or unfriendly to yer cpu. As long as you have a good disk drive that can stream, cpu load shouldnt be too bad as long as you dont use a bunch of effects...

Halion is cheaper... 
So which one do people prefer? for streaming sounds from hd? What are the pros and cons of the three? (kontakt/halion/GS)

GS won't give you much fun when using it on the same machine as your sequencer. It's basically aimed to run as a standalone. But maybe the latest version has been improved regarding running along with your sequencer of choice.
RGCaudios SFZ+ apparently gives an extremely great performance, especially considering that sound quality is outstanding (which might matter as soon as you're using patches with few samples only). But editing it is somewhat cumbersome as you won't have that realtime feeling.
I don't know the actual HALion figures, but in the past it has been blown away by Kontakt and others. And Kontakt 2 is even more efficient than 1.x.
It's extremely efficient when streaming from disk - almost as efficient as Emagics EXS24, which for me has allways been the best in terms of efficiency (under Logic 5.5.1 for Windows). Maybe GS will still be more efficient, but that might not be true as soon as you run it on the same machine as your sequencer.

I wouldn't give a damn about system requirements posted on the company's websites.
Regarding AKAI import (and a lot of other formats), Kontakt 2 seems to be doing a really nice job. The importing algorythm has been done by Garth (of Chickensys), btw.

HALion was a better sounding sampler than Kontak , without aliasing problems and superb filters .
Kontak2 is another story , it´s the definitive sampler ,albeit i think H3 and Kontak complement each other rather than compete.
I´m waiting for the 4 version of HALion, i have reasons to suspect they are going to rise the bar again, untill then Kontak is king.
They have both a considerable hit on your system but are a lot of fun too, GS3 perhaps sounds better but if you plan to run it on rewire, it feels ackward and convoluted , albeit a little less resource demanding.
