I'd like to second AudioMulch. It's very flexible and very powerful.

Thanks for the further responses and information!

I went and checked out Audiomulch and I am playing with it. This is actually just what I needed to begin, as the whole process is very visual and clear, and has helped me understand how all these softwares essentially work. I am having fun playing around with it and making some strange noises, hopefully I can make something musical out of it. Next step is to start putting in some VSTs into it and experiment some more.

After this I'll probably play around witth FL loops and see how that goes as well. I tried a demo of Reason but boy, talk about overwhelming, so I put that on the back burner for right now.

I am holding on for right now on the controller, but the idea of having one seems fun, so who knows. But for now I will just keep on experimenting, breaking stuff, making noises and freaking out my wife and my cat.

Oh yeah, I have plans to stick to audiomulch for now, I am really enjoying it and learning a lot, so I will stick to it until I feel I have hit a plateau, which will probably be a long while.

Four Tet uses a "multimedia" PC microphone, Audiomulch and normal stereos, and makes wonderful music.

I did more innovative stuff with FastTracker and later with a groovebox than today with spanky VSTis & a DSI Evolver :D It has taken me a lot longer than I expected to sink all the fine technology in.

Anyway, welcome & have fun!

Audiomulch was probably the best thing to happen to my music since the old Fasttracker 2. The longer you use it, the better it gets.

There are a few of us Audiomulch users around here, so if you have questions, feel free to ask.
