So I could try a URS EQ on more than one machine? I'd just have to bring my USB Key? (Excuse my lack of knowledge here).akisd28 wrote:The main purpose of iLok is to be able to take your plugs wherever you go.
You just have to sign up for an iLok account.

no that's exactly what the iLok is for... just take the USB Key (iLok) and a CD with the URS plugs (or any other plugs) you authorized via iLok and the iLok drivers and you can use them on any given Computer.. given your iLok is plugged inbduffy wrote:If I can ask something else: what exactly is the process with this iLok business? I go to the music store, purchase the USB Key, then you go to ilok.com and register, et voila?
Is the registration locked to one machine, so I'll have to decide if I want to use the plug-in at work or home only? I guess that's the main purpose of it...

Yeah, that's just it: I keep thinking, "$49.95"..."$49.95"...
But after CAD exhange, and $60 for the iLok, I'm looking at about $130 CAD. I know, I know: it's a good deal, but me so broke...
