My absolute favorite part is the eulogy for Donnie..he's talking all that Vietnam crap & shakes the bone dust all over Lebowski..

"Why does everything with you have to be a f**king travesty, man!?!?!"

PS. I am not as smart as you think but thanks. I can enjoy some nonsense once in a while.

Oh, sorry, did I change the subject? I was drawn in by the interesting thread title. Weird stuff.
It's a Terry Gilliam movie! It's hilarious and scares you witless! It's a great evocation (and evaluation) of a certain kind of sixties!

Big Lebowski isn't bad, no... but it totally sucks in comparison.

Vegas baby Vegas? Nevada eh? Any KVR Brits going? We should all meet in London with Squids buying fish n chips. ;) (if someone can point us to a good place for it of course... last time I was there I couldn't find one!). Squids n chips?

cptgone, I had a feeling there would be fans of this movie. It IS Gilliam afterall. I may give it another chance. 12 Monkeys was one of my favorites. Time Banits, Brazil... and of course Python.

Speaking of the great Terry Gilliam, he has a new film scheduled for release this year:

It's a freaking talking book!

One of the worst movie adaptations I've ever seen. Some of the visuals are fun, but if 90% of what you got is just voiced-over lines from the book, then your movie is a resounding failure.
