Older Cubase VST plug ins not working

Hi everyone, new to Tracktion but loving it. Used Cubase Score for years up to 4.1, stopped making music for a couple of years, and am now trying to get my favourite old plug ins working in Tracktion (specifically Prosonic Dynasone). They are in the correct directory but just keep on coming up as ignored. My Cubase Score ran on a Mac G3 in OS 9.2. I am currently in Tracktion 2 on a G4 running OSX 10.3. I fear I know the answer, but are my plug ins just too old and no longer compatible?

Hi MrM. Either this is a subtle way of telling me to flush my old plugins down the toilet, or rather a cunning technique with which I'm not familiar. Could you elaborate please?javascript:emoticon(':help:')

Bigmuppet; I was refering to a chainer.
When I have plugins that are not stable for direct use in my host (Logic), I use 'chainer' to use the plugins.
The demo version of chainer can do this, go to www.xlutop.com and try for yourself.
It works practical to put all plugins you want to use with chainer in a seperate folder.
A 'poweruser' would also set the plugin directory within chainer to that 'seperate folder' only.

OK, so this looks like it's on the right path, except that xlutop is for PC only - anyone know of a similar program for Mac? bm.
Still don't see why they won't just work ...

You can add Prosoniq Roomulator to that list. It wont work in SX2.
I sent an email, but never even got a response. Seems they've dropped it.
$85 out the window.
Won't buy anything from them again.

I think OS9 VST plugins aren't compatible with OSX, as I remember there was a big fuss when OSX was released about how long it would take developers to update their plugs, but I'm not a Mac user so don't quote me! As for problems with SX2, I think that is because of the audio engine update to VST 2.3 - there should be a box to tick in the Plugins list in Devices to set a plugin to Old Behaviour or something similar, maybe this will help with the Roomulator?
