Errm... no, you can't - I just tried.
Possible in Logic...

It might be that I'm missing something, but i really can't figure it out.
I suppose you know you have to activate the Read button afterwards?

Yes, you can do live control of VSTi while doing the real time export.

How so, SJ? Over here, the export window becomes focussed and there's no way around it, as it seems.

You have to monitor (speaker button) the track(s) you want to control. The synth will still play and the export will happen while they respond to the messages. Sorry about the late reply, I had a long day :(

Will that work with VSTis, SJ?

Yes, in fact I think it ONLY works with VSTi as the output is post buss for the real-time output. In other words I don't know if it would work for something like an EQ on an audio track as monitoring would disable the export. I haven't actually ever tried that, but I have exported while controlling the pulse width of a synth for example.

Hm, thanks SJ. Will probably check (not that I'd ever need it for myself).

You really need to give yourself a good silent buffer with a count in at the start of the song though. Gives you time to get ready to twiddle them knobs and slam them sliders.
