The demos are what got me interested in buying one of them. The only restriction is 30 minutes at a time, for a maximum of 30 days. That part, they got right!

I heard them at Sounds Expo. Not only are they "not too shabby at all", they really do have the essential character of the amps they model, especially the Marshall. In fact I had never spotted how distinctive the Marshall sound really is until I heard NI's emulation. Just typical. I'd already spent a shedload that day and they made me want to spend even more...

You're preaching to the choir!Ned Bouhalassa wrote:I was going to pick up the AC Combo on an impulse buy as well, but I can't wait a week (it's for a deadline), and am unwilling to pay 22 US for fast shipping. C'mon NI, such a small FX package should be a download.

I must be blind but I see only the Guitar rig demo in NI's site. Not the Combo's demos

Aren't these the same models as in Guitar Rig? If so I don't see why the Twang Combo would sound different.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

both simulation use same sound engine, but this is not just taken from guitar rig and made as a standalone.(from my opinion)Funkybot wrote:Aren't these the same models as in Guitar Rig? If so I don't see why the Twang Combo would sound different.

Does the Plex sound very different from a Marshall stack (I know you guitarist are pretty picky about this stuff)?Trojan Badger wrote:I heard them at Sounds Expo. Depends on what vintage of stack you're talking about. I was playing around with the Plexi demo this morning, and with minimal tweaking, I could dial up almost the exact sound of the early '70s Marshall combo that was my main studio amp in the '90s. As far as I can tell, the gain structure's really close to a Plexi- that's probably why the combo has two distortion "pedals" at the front end.
