alternative to buzz

I have been using buzz for a little over a year now, and am comfortable with the tracker interface. Unfortunately buzz is somewhat limited when it comes to playing and recording from a keyboard. But I do really like the routing possibilities it affords. I have tried some alternatives: flstudio (painful); cubase 3.7 (alright but not particularly convenient); energyxt (couldn't work it out). Is there a tracker which is like buzz but better, or should I look at a sequencer, or again at xt?
I make electronic music: minimal house, techno, dub, downtempo. BTW I ain't rich.

Take a look at for intance Aodix, if you want tracker stylee and nice routings for the different devices.
My fav host is Podium atm, I think this might change in the future though. I'm currently so into SynthMaker that I will probably start using it for all my music making sooner or later

I'd recommend turning to Energy XT--with a minimal effort, you'll get into this and you'll probably love it! If you want to play from a MIDI keyboard, a sequencer is more convenient than a tracker, and XT is smth very powerful for a next-to-nothing price. If you still want a tracker like software, you might like Psycle (it is in the drop-down 'hosts' menu on the right)

Playing from the keyboard is doable using the MuMIDI Wrapper or the Polac VST loader which will also load buzzmachines.
On the other hand I think EXT is a good replacment if you can stand loosing the tracker interface. There are tracker VST's out there but None of them compare to the Matlide tracker in my opinion.
Buzzclones are comming. Buzzle and bero tracker, aero too.

I'd nth the EXT recommendations - I shifted to it from Buzz myself. It takes a while to learn if you're only used to trackers because in addition to learning a new way of sequencing you're doing it on a piece of software that's not totally intuitive, and with documentation that isn't comprehensive.
But it's not hard, and it's well worth it.

The XT forum is very helpful. there is a sticky there for beginners that will get you started. It's super cheap ($40) and the demo has only one limitation (you can't load saved songs, but you can save for later when you buy).

So I can use the quick Buzz method of generating noises, and then have them actually exist, as an instrument, in Logic.
Buzz is great for electrono-musos but I record acoustic things aswell as use VSTs, and that's where Buzz fails miserably. And besides, though I've not used Buzz for a year or two, I got the impression VST implementation never really settled - I'm not sure I'd be able to drop my WaldorfAttack and use the multi-outs, for example.
Whereas Logic/Live/Bidule are all happy to comply.

VST implementation in Buzz is better than any other I know. Honest.
