hi,
how can I make my own impulse responses? What impulse should I use when I want to make a response of hardware, software and a real room? For a real room, can I use any speaker and a condensor microphone to get good results?

I don't quite remember, but wasn't there some hints over at www.echochamber.ch ? From there you can - if you don't already have - download pretty good impulses. I didn't do my own up to now, so sadly enough I can't help. Aleksej from voxengo.com could surely help. He made 2 little programs I think for making impulses. So you might want to ask him.

Wasn't it also discussed at the Noisevault dot com? I recall some fellows popped balloons, others fired a small air gun or small explosies to drill holes in concrete.
My MusicCalc is temporary offline.

the frequency range of speaker and mic will reflect the frequency range of the impulse.Zoomby wrote:hi,

what cookie said works for real rooms. For hardware (digital and analog) you'll need a dirac spike or a sinesweep test-tone. www.noisevault.com go and swallow the forum, there are a lot of answers to your calls.

Heard that there is a ancient tomb in Egypt that has the strangest acoustics. It is said that the reverberation there can put one into a trance.
Any impulses available from ancients sites?
How about the Taj Mahal?
