Thank goodness an update came-out for SoundForge8 today (8.0a).

When I upgraded to 8.0 I hit so many issues that I thought I was ready to move onto another sample-editor app... (I was hitting crashes left and right).

Did anyone else find the jump to SoundForge8 as difficult as I did? I'm going to go install the update right now, and hope that it restores my faith in SF.

I never had any crashes with it. I have not installed the update yet, I'm downloading it now.

I upgraded to Sony Soundforge8, after some problems. (getting false e-mails telling me i should buy the full version; well I had Soundforge6 and was an upgrader that way). I get a mail every week with "buy Vegas now" and so on, but I don't get an update-e-mail for my purchased Soundforge8. So thanks for posting this here.

In 8 many VST-plugins were really slow compared to all my other hosts. Maybe this is not a bad thing, as VST-support is new. Only one plug froze Sony up to now every time I used it. And only in Soundforge8. Some people I know wait til SF9 comes out :-). Anyway, it's a good program, only support is not good in my case and after some 10 e-mails to them.

soundforge8 was rather stable on my machine (stable as rock using sony's plugins, but some issues with some freeware vst, most of them using spectral or buffer technology...).
There are so many vst that i don't think it can be 100% stable. It is with its own plugins and avery Dx i tried, you have to check before using a vst, but once your vst is accepted, there will have no problem.

SOundFOrge8 is WAAAAAAYYYY better stable than Acid Pro 5 !!!
