Oh yes - or the visual equivalent of white noise...
Countless times that I found myself awaking in front of those beauties. These days it's usually "Die schönsten Bahnstrecken der Welt".

eurovision votes seem political 100 percently to me...nothing to do with the...music... does anybody feel the same?

the three biggest economies in europe got the least votes

I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

Don't knock it! My missus is Greek & she was thrilled to bits when Greece won. They are also having street parties in Athens over it & there's practically nothing else on Greek TV apart from that sodding song. I even had to call the relatives & congratulate them. It's been a fraught & humbling weekend and my cool mates won't speak to me anymore.

I'm trying to get tickets for next year's sow.

'sow' should have been 'show' but I think I'll let it stay as it is...

I dont knock it, just saying the votes are political and sympatical votes. denmark votes 12 points for sweeden, bosnia 12 points for their neighbours etc... got NOTHING to do with the music...

KVR, douze points. KVR, twelve points.

At times like this I'm even happier I've left Greece.

They were having street parties all over the country, not only Athens. Today it was on TV on all the major stations and it was the topic for all the talk shows. Even the government representative gave praise to this glorious national triumph.

My oh my... and all that for a shitty song.
I quite like Greece myself though.

Oh I absolutely agree. When Greece was lagging behind in the stakes my other half had the nerve to complain about former Soviet states block voting until someone pointed out that Greece & Cyprus are famous for giving 12 points to each other. But that's part of the gloriously dreadful thing that is Eurovision, where the previous winner won't get off the stage, where Morten from Aha comperes, where Dana International can exist. What better night to hold a tacky party?

I am proud to be a part of country (slovakia) that decided not to attend this shit. Last time I've seen it 2 years ago I couldn't get rid of pain in my eyes (ears).
