good grief..
it took me like 2 weeks to get the protools m-powered demo to run.. it turns out it has a problem with one of it's own included plugins..

now that i've tried it a litte i hate it.. it's dumb as hell.. just a warning..
here's the worse part though - when you install the stinking thing it infects every disk it can find with it's files

and i just happened to have my compact flash reader on at the time and it wrote it's folder onto there and now the last like 100 photos i took were not written to my CF card..

so i'm pissed.. hell - if i hadnt thought to clear out the card tonight i would have gone on a trip to see a good play in San Francisco staring Robin Weigert (Deadwood's Calamity Jane

) with the camera and not known until i got back that none of the pictures got stored..

so because of this and the fact that their tech support couldnt find the error message their expensive piece of software was giving me in any of their reference materials tells me that they are seriously a company to be avoided!

I am very sorry to hear of your problems. But I (shake) have protools mpowered, and have it working well. Maybe it's the f'n demo.........demos do usually suck donkeys........

now that i renamed its plugin folder it runs.. but i just strongly dislike the way it works... like how you draw midi by pointing a text entry style cursor and right clicking..

as far as i've understood, PT is supposed to pretty much suck as a midi seq but excel as a multitrack audio editor.

mmm.. ok - now i see the friggin draw tool.. but why can't i see a way of judging where the notes will appear? there is like no grid.. and do you always have to edit in this tiny, tiny, tiny view of the track?
maybe i just havent given it enough patience, but i am still upset about my photos of my family and things..

I've tryied it as well and it worked fine for me, although I did'nt find out how to use RTAS plugins as instruments.

momus - dunno if it's your problem - but m-powered can only use certain protools plugins.. no TDM Virus for example..

I've loaded battery 2 as insert FX to audio track but didn't realized how to route midi to it. However it's better for multirecording on my delta 1010 than cubase but since I'm not a band boy it's not of much use for me.

omg.... ok.. in the \dae\plugins folder.. lol.. there are four files.. three of them have m-o-d-u-l-a-r s-y-s-t-e-m in the titles... this was the error that nobody i asked had any idea about - "your modular system is not installed properly"

why didn't they know what was causing the error?

Ummm, ProTools LE cant use that either. TDM plugins are the one that run on the expensive version of ProTools.
