Hey, there's a demo up now on www.basementarts.de
Sounds terrific. I guess it is Antti's filter algos in a commercial plugin - it says 'filter algorithms: a. huovilainen' in the midi learn page.
Only thing that bugs me is that it seems like it's mono-only....
EDIT: It's not mono only... it's stereo but there seem to be a bug with Ableton Live 4.0 that makes it act like a mono effect..

some pretty manglesome power there! bit of a cumbersome looking (and quite big) gui tho.. i'm still baffled about the need for big knobs for every parameter. but then i guess they're going for an 'analogue' feel, which probably extends to 'analogue hardware' style controls
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

I've played with it some more and the GUI is really unintuitive... takes some time to get used to. Great filters and modulation possibilities though!haydxn wrote:some pretty manglesome power there! bit of a cumbersome looking (and quite big) gui tho.. i'm still baffled about the need for big knobs for every parameter. but then i guess they're going for an 'analogue' feel, which probably extends to 'analogue hardware' style controls
EDIT: I've come up with a workaround for stereo operation in Ableton Live 4.0. By using EnergyXT as a wrapper it will work in stereo. And boy, does it work. This thing is spectacular! Filters are jawdropping...
I wonder how it compares to Fabfilter Volcano which is due to be released tomorrow (according to www.fabfilter.com).

Not sure whether Filterscape won't hold up against it easily.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

I am also interested in how Filterscape and this will compare. I like Antii's filters, but I love Urs' filters. Just can't wait for the final release. Maybe then I will A/B them.
Anybody have both? Comment?

andre, the earlier announcements said that ff would have models of the oscar's filters and the sherman filterbank's. It looks like the demo version has neither of these. That's too bad, since I would of paid for a decent sherman emulation.
The ms filters sound great btw.

3*s, you can switch the second filter into separation mode. this way cutoff1 is the master freq. and with the freq.2 knob you can tune the intervall down. that´s exactly how the oscar is working! choose the ms-lp in both filters and you are pretty close to the real thing.
there are a few other fixed intervalls available for the second filter. these fixed settings match the harmonic settings of the sherman.
just check frantic out. do you really need a sherman
