I know. He sent me samples. (Thank you again, Xoxos!)

But he also did'nt reply to my example demonstration. So I assume, he keeps his disappointment about that result silent.

To not to blame ME that much... :hihi:

Post

comment: please start and finish coding that plugin.

thanks

I would also like to see such a plugin which could do formant shifting (and possibly pitch shifting also, two sliders or so...).

I'd actually need it right now ;) That's why this thread got my attention.

So, pretty please!

To all, who gonna wana have it, please send me a formless request to

mail[at]devilswhisper.com

I'll not publish it publicly in the near future (as for all of my tools). Only the "pre-orderers" :hihi: (that's quite an often used word in the last 3 days, you know) will get one. If ready.

Cheers.

Just had a chance to listen to the sample, j&h. Very interesting. It actually reminds me of some software that used to ship with the old SBLive package (can't remember what it was called, but part of it was a little talking bird).

I can hear the difference between this and a pitchshifter, but I'm wondering if there is a way to avoid the metallic raspiness? I'm very interested in this, email sent.

Cheers,
Steve

That's simply a result of the performance optimized (and special realtime processing) modification of the base code. Because the people here wanted a realtime effect, you know...

It also has the tendency to get "hoarse" with high pitches and synthetic with low ones ...
I have to admit.

But please consider also, that I did tweak the plug extremely (one octave up and down). As already stated, Formant shifting (if applied useful) is an subtile thing...

I.e. if you have for instance a singer, who sounds as he had an potato inside his throat (in German "knödeln"), then it may be able to do wonders!

The offline code project (not intented to be released this way) sounds allot better (smoother and more natural sounding) for some reasons. Monolithic analysis (rather than continuous streaming) is required to get out better results (because of required low latency for realtime that finally makes it quite limited then).

As more informations about the entire sound and the entire consistency of the audio material you can collect, as better can you refine the processing and so the final result.

But well, even that realtime tech is not new.
It is actually used with LeapFrog Rephrase, Steinberg VoiceMachine, Waves UltraPitch, AKAI DecaBuddy, Celemony Melodyne and probably many others more...

So go buy them, if you can't wait!

By the way. There is a "HIGH" quality framework discovered lately here also! :hihi:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... sc&start=0

Take a look at those guys, which now act like crazy to get something released based on that ...

Maybe they are much faster and (higher quality, of cours). So I can do some more interesting things for my taste that way ... :hihi:

Really strange, that it "popped up" just right, as I "released" my pitch shifter "AudioPitch" ...

Sounds good! I'm looking for something that can change formants with out changing pitch for the same reason as someone previousley mentioned. I lay down a lot of my own vocal harmony tracks. It's nice when some of the singers sound like somebody other than me.

Gender changing formants would be especially helpful.

Thanks...

If anyone is interested in a good offline standalone formant shifter, I've just come across Praat. It's actually designed to be a linguistics tool, but is thoroughly excellent, does PSOLA processing.

Looks like a good find, shamann. Haven't peeked yet, but if it does all that stuff, I'm fine with it being offline. :D
