Hello folks

I rember someone posting ages ago about a program that adds header and footer data to .MP3s so that they are read as .WAVs by hosts/samplers, etc.

God knows what it is called

Does anybody know :help:

I'd call that a hoax ;-)

Although... you could specify an MP3-codec in a WAV file header.

Well, bang goes the idea of MP3 DJ'ing with EnergyXT

I think that this is what the program did, but the other way round (if it was true)

Look for a program called MP3TOWAV (and its inverse, KILLHDR). This will wrap an MP3 file into a WAV shell. The data is still MP3 data, but the file will have standard WAV info to identify it as such.

However, if the host doesn't process the WAV file through sound mapper (so as to take advantage of all codecs installed in a system), then your host won't be able to read this WAV wrapped MP3 file either.

Have you already found the right thing? KILLHDR doesn't get me any results, just KILLHDD which is a virus
