This song has more heavy COMPRESSION than ANY song ever... That's how they get that "pumping" feel to the beat.
As far as the bass sound, it sounds like a very simple Saw, perhaps run through an exciter (something like BBE perhaps).
And of course, the vocals: Sounds like "speak and spell", but I don't think it is.
It sounds like either computer synthesized vocals or people "acting" like robots running through a vocoder...
I like this song. I think it's very funny that they used SOOOO much compression. No shame...

Sidechain compression. Kick drum ducking pretty much everything else.

If you use FL Studio I have an .flp that you can look at that recreates this sound very well.

ah, good old beni b. My sister loves that sht. Anyways, I've actually been curious about the same thing for a while. I've heard a whole bunch of different things from different people and of course, the guy hasn't done too many interviews with gear magazines (if you know of one, please share). I mean, theoretically, you could recreate that type of sound with so many different plugs but I don't know B's actual setup.
Anyways, a buddy of mine got a sound that was reasonably close to the satisfaction sound with Arturia Moog Modular V and the Waves Diamond bundle. He said he just pumped the L2 a hell of a lot and he had the bass drum ducking (i think or something like that) (as was mentioned earlier). The settings for the release time etc. are pretty self-explanitory. So, I have no idea because I never use that waves stuff but is my buddy full of sht or what? He also had another beni b-esque sound that used the waves plugs and that MCDSP synth (i forget what it's called) as well (i remember thinking that this synth sounded a little cooler but i don't remember why). Does that help at all?

it's been around way before beni b. There's some new york underground cuts from a while back that use that synth sound. Also, that Spread Love track from a few years back ( i think it was "fight club") had a similar type of super compressed bass synth as well.

I think the vocals are made from having one person saying the same phrase a bunch of times, and then slicing each of them into syllables, and finally putting them back together, but from random takes.idobs wrote:This song has more heavy COMPRESSION than ANY song ever...
