I'm with a band called the Retrofits from just north of Toronto, Canada. Please visit our new website and check out our tunes. I am providing temporary access to our songs in their entirety via this link:
www.retrofits.ca/Not_Our_Day_Job_Complete_Tracks.html (http://www.retrofits.ca/Not_Our_Day_Job_Complete_Tracks.html)
The tunes are all registered with SOCAN and are copyrighted, but all I ask is that you don't download them to any folders on your computer that are availed to file-sharing. (thanks!)
Hoping for your good and bad experiences to lead me to the answer to this question: Where can you get your music heard 'for real' out there via artist showcasing website/services? There are some places asking upwards of $500.00 (www.itsaboutmusic.com (http://www.itsaboutmusic.com), for example) to supposedly get you heard by industry professionals...a bit steep? Any guarentees they're doing anything but sitting with their thumbs up their bums? I don't care if it's free or maybe a few bucks, I just want the whole snoopy internet world to find our new tunes and download them via a good music distribution/showcasing service, maybe sell a few CD's...that sort of thing.
Your expertise lads & ladies? Please?
I would really appreciate this a great deal - there's just too much to filter thru out there.
Thanks for any leads or ideas.
Martin of the Retrofits.
