I have been trying to get more information about this plug...looks to be another HOT product....

I'm wondering, for the guitar sounds, I think Squids mentioned that there are many different "clean" guitar sounds which one can use with Amplitube. Will it come with any "strumming" or "powerchord" samples? This would be nice since I don't play guitar that well....

I'm in the eSoundz Group Buy right now...will be my first of many IK products to come. Can't wait to try out these plugs! I have been looking for sound libraries that would perform close to a hardware keyboard...hope I find one in ST2 and SS2. :)

How's the piano samples? I own a Fantom X6...and I found the piano somewhat "thin"...I'm really picky when it comes to piano sounds...guess what instrument I play the most? :p

One last thought...I'm hoping that ST2 and SS2 is easy to program...and is not a CPU hog.... I have a Power Mac G5 Dual 2.0 with 1.5G of ram...that enough? Squids once mentioned also that Studiophonik requires a somewhat high end computer to run...wonder how high end one needs.

I'll be investing in the CSR and T-Rack next...not to mention Miroslav...Studiophonik...oh heck...Amplitube 2...man, I better stop dreaming and really start saving some money!

The piano instruments in SS2 are top shelf. Top notch samples, 16 different pianos (not variations - but totally different sample sets of totally different pianos), plenty more variations, and fast access to editing and high quality effects. I'm loving the pianos in SS2. :)

Your PowerMac will perform well. ST2 and SS2 are both easy on the CPU. Studiophonik will be slightly more CPU-intensive because it'll be using layers for features such as mic position mixing, maybe pickup selection/mixing for guitars, etc. This uses more polyphony, so of course it will use a little more CPU.

Forever,

One of the joys of having this stuff, is that it's so easy to understand. It took me about an hour with the manual to get the hang of it, and I was off and running. The ease of organization and the powerful keyword search feature is really nice. I can find what I'm looking for really quickly. You can even add your own keywords to your favorite sounds, which is a great way to make a favorites list.

Also, all the editing buttons are handy, right on the GUI.

Now I can't wait to get my hands on ST2 and SS2! :p
