I've just had a trance rebirth, been listening to my Astral Projection and Transient stuff back to back for two days...

... but I haven't bought anything since Astral Projection's Amen in 2002!

I've got a couple of Fopp record tokens burning a hole in my wallet - so tell me who the current trance 'biggies' I should look out for, I'm out of touch now.

Who's new, or who's really worth a listen, or who's the biggest, what should I be spending my hard-gifted vouchers on? All I can think of is transient stuff and, er, perfecto fluoro

(I'm not that old)

And noooo squabbling over I'm-more-tarncer-than-thou or anything like that...

Shpongle's new CD is supposed to be out this month but with only a few days left I think not. Worth waiting for though.

But I'm outta touch myself unfortunately.

Anything Infected Mushroom, Hallucinogen, Juno Reactor, its all good, maybe not some of the newest stuff but definatley the best.

Here some CDs that I've liked lately:

Electroscopic
Utopia 2
Unusual Suspects 2
Younger Brother: A Flock of Bleeps
Synthetic: 100% Pure

For a slightly darker sound with a little industrial/tech influence I would recommend Irritant. One of my favorite records is The Delta: Scizoeffective. There's also The Delta: Send In... Send Back, and Siprallianz: Blast Food. These are not your typical psy-trance stuff.

Some other CD's that are a little more downtempo but have good trippy psychedelic sounds on them are:
Hallucinogen: In Dub
Downhill: Silent City

bizzare..recently i DL all of Cosmosis albums, and found 3 id never hear (turned to acid techno in 98 ) and they still sound fuckin amazin...used to love them and AP....

If you never heard GNOTR's "rock bitch mafia" album.. try it out.. its pretty old but still above and beyond most other goa/psy I've heard..

Some classics:

Dimension 5 - Second Phase
Pleadians - I.F.O and Family of Light
RA - To Sirius
Ypsilon 5 - Binary Sky - that's from 2004, but it's good as the old stuff

The last album of Electric Universe had some bright moments too.

And some recent progressive stuff:

Vibrasphere - Lime Structure - amazing. One of my all-time favorites.
Freq - Strange Attractors
Antix - Twin Coast Discovery

And definetly the last album of Juno Reactor that someone mentioned. Don't miss it.

P.S. I really don't like the "full-on" and "psy" trance that pops out recently.

wow, I consider myself a trancehead and I have never heard of these artists before.

Anyone care to up a few tracks by them? I mostly listen to Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond, Gabriel & Dresden and the like. What is 'transient' stuff anyway?
