I think there's absolutely nothing wrong with Aleksey's GUIs [colours are ok] and I like them to look as alike as they do, consistency is good [like Waves, just a few different designs], but I have to admit that he could "modernise" it a bit with "nicer" buttons and "nicer" VU meters... wouldn't hurt
Cheers.

Seconded!AKJ wrote:I think plastic has a point but the clue would imo not be to simplify thinks but just to put labels which people can make sense of... just a thought.

Same in Elephant... I keep forgetting what the acronyms (e.g. AIGC-2) stand for.plastic wrote:nothing wrong with the graphic design of the UI. i'd rather invest some time in thinking about functional design. voxengo plugins lack a bit in that area. i find it especially scary when i open a dropdown in a plugin and there is a list of "modes" called like AB1, BB, FRB, CGHT, GGG, WTF...seen in curve EQ i think

That's the Voxengo 'secret sauce' - I don't know what it means either so I just hits the buttons till it sounds good!plastic wrote:i find it especially scary when i open a dropdown in a plugin and there is a list of "modes" called like AB1, BB, FRB, CGHT, GGG, WTF...seen in curve EQ i think

Some of the lettering is a little hard to read on some of the plugs.
I actually like the color combinations on the Gliss and Harmoni EQ's, that sort of "Voxengo Beige" combined with the brighter colors looks cool.
BTW, Aleksy, what does the "gliss" in GlissEQ stand for?

Make it look just like Vintage Warmer.Aleksey Vaneev wrote:Visual look will be updated in the future.

I recommend this because, though it doesn't make sense, I honetsly think "pretty" plugs are more likely to sell.Aleksey Vaneev wrote:kode, investing in a newer 'prettier' design is not a problem for Voxengo. What is more problematic is getting a design which will satisfy more customers than the current one. But as I've already replied, I will be devoting some resources to 'design' in the future.
My advice: make it look like a real piece of rack gear. Something that would make you say "Oooo ooo ooo, I wanna tweak those KNOBS!!!"

Why should a GUI submit to the limitations of hardware design? Fonk that!Frippertronix wrote:My advice: make it look like a real piece of rack gear.

Cool, I just bought it so I'll glissade to my heart's content.Aleksey Vaneev wrote:'Gliss' is from the word 'glissade'. In the context of GlissEQ, glissading the waveform and making smooth filter gain adjustments dynamically.

Yea, I guess reading the manual might be a must with your plugs.Aleksey Vaneev wrote:OK, thanks for ideas. How should I rename 'AIGC-2'? Automatic Input Gain Control variant 2? It's too long.
BTW, I can't remember, is there a manual link on your plug faceplates, like on Torben's?
If not, particularly in your case, I think that would be a great idea.
