Hi Folks,
I'me very interested in the new CME line of MIDI keyboard controllers. One question I do have is how nice (or not so nice) it plays with Cubase SX2.

Thanks!

I've only read a review and seen a few pix so far. Nice looking gear......if they are as good as reported, I'll get one. 8)
I've heard of Music Concrete...is there Music Asphalt?

I bought the UF8 and promptly returned it. It worked fine and the capabilities are nice, but I need something more piano like. I wouldn't be adverse to buying one of the smaller semi-weighted ones down the road as a 2nd keyboard. The build quality seems fine. I've read that the USB drivers could use some work, but I didn"t try mine.

i have a uf-5 sitting at work ready to take home, will let you know more when i try it out. I opened it up and took a good look at it and pressed some keys, seems like everything is built real well, real solid, it is kinda big though...I sure like it more than my piece of crap edirol pcr-50 that stopped workin.

I have a UF5. I bought it mainly 'cos it's the only controller keyboard of this size and price that has aftertouch. Overall the build quality is decent. The downside for me is that I find the keyboard action a little springy and also the 8 sliders are a bit light weight and offer almost no resistance when moving them.

Interesting....responses (generally) seem to be pretty positive. Anyone tried to use it as a contoller in SX2 or another host?

Thanks

Hey, I am looking for something to replace my yamaha p200 as my main keyboard (almost ridiculous that right now I am just using it as a MIDI controller, along with a uc33e and nostromo n52). Are the keys on these really hammer-weighted or is this just marketing BS. I haven't played much of anything that responds like the p200.

Only the UF8 has hammer-weighted keys. I haven't tried it though so I can't say how it compares.

The UF series all have transport controls which are supposed to work with the main hosts: Cubase, Logic, Sonar et al..I'm a Podium user though so, again I can't say how well it works with SX2, etc.
There's a forum at the cme website which might help.

The UF8 is nowhere NEAR the P200 in terms of keyboard feel.
In my opinion, of course......

I tried a brand new UF-8 in a shop, it look´s more
cheapish in real life than on pictures, the after-
touch was deffective, even on this new model, only
casual "noise" was transmitted, the controller-
buttons/faders was the most cheapish though,....

Keys was kinda "rubber-like", soft, and undefined
in a way I don´t appriciate for piano-use, (I use
fatar now), in fact if you pres down a black and
remove your finger you will se the key flopping
up and down a few times, before rest, like a car
with a bad suspension, I did not bye the UF-8
