Just trying the demo for this plug and it is ....Insane! The best vst eq I have ever heard.

Does this pluggo thing you run with it crap on your systems performance? How many instances should I be able to run on a p4 3.2 machine with a ton of ram?

Thanks

It is pretty CPU heavy but apparently it's not because of pluggo. It is a bit of a shame that this plugin isn't coded in c++ but at this quality, I really don't care how it was made. Also, be aware that it introduces a 31 sample latency too but this is of course no problem if your host has PDC. I suggest you try out the demo long enough to see if it works on your system.

Its a little to top heavy for me (p4 3.0E). I may buy the Blue Tubes Bundle when i can find $400 freakin bucks...

I find it quite heavy on my cpu but it is worth it,

I recently had word that they ARE working on optimizing for PC users, so a future update will help.

thanks,

I use Nuendo 3 so I am all set with the PDC..

I just might purchase Glisseq instead for now....I realy like it alot...sounds wonderful and is easy to use and seems nice on the cpu. I tried harmoneq but it didnt seem all that great at first try....

It's nice to know that native plugs are getting so good.. for some reason I feel like I would regret a UAD-1 purchase down the road ... as code gets better and proccessors get faster theres no reason not to invest in native.

It might take around 6-7% per instance on your CPU. Try the demo though, obviously. In fact, the devlopers have "unofficially" said that there is a new optimized PC alpha version that can be nearly 4x more efficient. :o

If it can get down to even 4% per instance on a 2Ghz machine...that is just obscene for the quality!

I just tried the demo too (P4 3.0ghz, Nuendo 3) - did you guys find the animtion chunky on the dials, etc?

does FL have PDC?

Iv'e been playing with the demo for a while now on my internet whore guinea pig PC,and while iv'e experienced nothing major performance-wise I have been getting odd little freeze ups now and then, but since the nature of the machine I'm testing it on is what it is,it's hard to be sure if I can pin any of that down on the Pluggo run time. But I am leary of installing a run-time on my DAW though, one is enough(DX)to deal with.If it weren't for the Pluggo run-time requirement I would have bought it already, but as good as Hydratone it is I'm not risking the flawless performance of my DAW.I'd like to know exactly how this run-time interacts with your OS and if it changes anything and how far does it thread itself into the Windows OS,especially if I want to uninstall it.If it's a complete uninstall I might try it on my DAW but I'll have to know more, much more than "it's running ok on my machine".I'm having a hard time trusting a company that's mainly Mac based when it comes to their Windows offerings.

These guys are pretty swamped so I wouldn't hold my breath. They are rushing to get the betas of Colortone and Angeltone up.

They consider this done (except for a freezeup bug they're fixing) and are on to working on their future releases. We'll be lucky to see a PC optimisation within the next year. In fact, in order to fix this freezeup bug, they're going to have to make it more CPU-intensive!

Hydratone does have a clunky interface. But like most of you say, the sound is worth it. Hydratone, Valvetone and Voxengo's PSLight and AnalogFlux suite are the only native plugs I use since going with the UAD's!

That coupled with no knowledge of how Pluggo threads itself into my system or if it changes anything pretty much points me in another direction unfortunately. It's a shame because Hydratone does sound nice.

The freezups I'm getting are in Windows in general so I'm suspecting this problem lies with the Pluggo Run-Time.I'm guessing of course but it seems more than a coincidence.
