sample out the voice of the singer from the song?
the remix job will be much more easier with that thing...

and also elevaytor's extraboy and adobe audition can all extract whatever's panned in the centre of the mix. on very rare occasions this will just be the vox, but mostly will be a lot else too. these three pieces of software also have other features that can help - kn0ck0ut can help you if you have a similar instrumental version or section of yr track, and there is a complicated technique based on audition/cool edit's noise reduction that you can find via google, and all have different filter/eq options that can be useful.
there's no magic solution, and to get anything usable this way depends massively on yr source material, yr patience, and yr tolerance for noisy, processed-sounding vocals. most of the acapellas you hear on remixes/bootlegs are either provided by record companies, acquired by dubious means, or created by the 'phase cancel' method using an identical instrumental. some of the bootleg guys do roll their own acapellas, but mostly just for dj sets, not for release...partly cos of poor quality, partly cos of the potential legal issues...
