owning thousands of commercial acid loops is right up there with saying that you've painted hundreds of "paint by numbers" paintings. some people have no shame.

Judging by a few things people have said about acid, i thought i'd inform them, you don't HAVE to use loops at all  Even when you do, they don't have to be pre-rendered by someone else, you can make your own........you know, like with vsti's and synths and shit

Post

Glad someone pointed out that pre-packaged loops are NOT the only option in Acid!!!Hating on Acid because of Sony is like hating on PC's because of Microsoft.

Yes, I am an unabashed ACID Pro 5 fanatic!
wow, i thought this title was a joke..

i dont believe that this pile of crap made it on the same level with probably the most respected software out there. someone must've paid alot of money...

If v5b has fixed a lot of bugs then great, however the review that you linked to will not have been done on v5b and the award will have been decided on an earlier version too most likely.
The latest 5b update was just released, while the 5a update has been out for almost 2.5 months. The annual AES convention was last month, well after the 5a, March 8th release. The 5a release did fix a lot of lingering issues, from the initial release though. The most prominent bugs/issues were resolved, in 5a, BTW.
until this latest update, months later, tons of acid users couldnt even start the program.

1000 percent unnacceptable.

this 'award' was one of 35 who happened to exhibit at their trade show. not much status in that...

acid is a dead duck as sony's own dead forum shows.

This is from a bitter old former ACID user, with selective memory loss and an obvious axe to grind. FYI, by your own ACID flashback reasoning, ACID should as popular than ever based on total topic count, during various six month periods, on the ACID forum:

11/01/2000 - 5/20/2001 400+ total topics posted

11/01/2001 - 5/20/2002 800+ total topics posted
this is from the forum used to be buzzing 3.0 heydays, I guess

11/01/2002 - 5/20/2003 1100+ total topics posted
this is from the acidpro4 was a buggy disaster period

11/01/2003 - 5/20/2004 700+ total topics posted

Since ACID 5's release:
11/01/2004 - 5/20/2005 1000+ total topics posted

Yep, it sure appears to be dead alright. Not that I give much credence to topic count, but since you thought is was all so important and indicative of ACID's demise.........think again.
i think what cabinfever is referring to is that those 1000+ posts are saying is:

acid sucks,

acid doesnt work

acid wont start

sony is dead

etcetc..

I have browsed those forums, Used to have a nick there...
